Here is a summary of our Beliefs
We are Bible believing Christians. We hold to the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, the creeds of the early church. Here are some of the truths from the Bible which we hold dear.
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be inspired by God. Therefore it is trustworthy and authoritative in all it says.
The Trinity
We believe in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – the Holy Trinity. We believe all persons of the Godhead and coequal and coexist together as one God.
The Lord Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God, that He was born of the virgin Mary, that He lived a perfectly sinless life, and died on the Cross and rose again on the third day. He has paid the penalty for the sins of every person who would come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting that what He done on Calvary covers fully their need of forgiveness and eternal life.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit whose ministry is vital for salvation and to enable us to live the Christian life honouring God.
Salvation
We believe that all humanity is born with a sinful nature, and this sinful nature separates us from the presence of God. Yet through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins we can now attain salvation as a gift from God for all those who believe, therefore having our relationship restored to God through Jesus Christ.
The Next Life
We believe that everyone will be resurrected on the last day. Those who have trusted Christ’s work on Calvary for forgiveness will be received into God’s heaven; those who are without Christ will be cast into hell.
Core Principles
We hold passionately to the following core principles:
Life at Westport!

Paudge Mulvihill
Paudge Mulvihill: Born in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon in 1957 I had a traditional catholic upbringing in a loving and caring home. In my early teens I abandoned faith and declared myself to be an atheist, more out of a desire to be different than from any deep well thought out reasons.
Thankfully in 1979 I was converted to New Testament Christianity and have experienced His wonderful love and care each day since. I am married to a lovely lady Emer, and we have two grown up children and two beautiful granddaughter.
I have been involved in Christian work since 1982 working together with some marvelous people seeing a number of churches established and looking to see further church establishment here across the West of Ireland. I am currently pastor at Calvary Church Westport.
Assistant Pastor
Jason Larkin
Hi, my name is Jason, I am originally from Co. Dublin, but now very happy to be living in the beautiful county of Mayo. I am married to an amazing woman from Venezuela, and we have been gifted with three fantastic children.
Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus tells us to go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
As the assistant Pastor I see this calling as the heart and soul of his church, therefore this is what I am committed to do here in our local Church in Westport. As a local church we will be committed to the outreach of our community and to help in ways that would benefit those around us, from practical and spiritual matters.

Elder
James McMaster
Hi, I'm James and I originally come from Co Derry. My wife Julia comes from Germany and my three children were all born in Wales. However, I am very glad to say that we have happily made our home in Mayo.
In the past my hobbies were skydiving and hiking, but these days I don't do much that is more energetic than reading! My favourite food is curry, my favourite author is JRR Tolkien.
My biggest hope is be able to serve the church of Jesus Christ by teaching God's Word faithfully.
