In John 15 Jesus said “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you”
As always, the Lord’s words pack quite a punch as He describes believers as ‘branches’ that are connected to Him by faith. By definition these people have undergone the cleansing from their sins that only Jesus can accomplish.
To be such ‘a branch’ means that, as surely as day follows night, you will bear ‘fruit’. In the context this means that the peace and joy of God will saturate your life.
If this isn’t happening then maybe you need to ask yourself if you are personally connected, not to an institution, but to Jesus Himself by faith?
