One people and two thoughts

In his letter to the Ephesians the Apostle Paul emphasised the importance of unity within the Church of Jesus Christ. At one point He passionately stated- ‘there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all’.

There can be no two ways about it- Christians are to live as one within the one church (every local Church is a manifestation of Christ’s one church).

On that basis allow me to make two statements. Firstly, it is a disgrace when professing followers of Jesus Christ to fight and run each other down. Secondly, the church that is called to this unity is the church that is built on the foundation of the teaching of the Apostles which is itself based on the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is this Apostolic foundation which defines the church and separates her from all other man-made institutions.
